CAST & CREW

Chinwe Okorie is an award-winning, visionary filmmaker known for emotionally resonant stories that center underrepresented voices.
With a background in writing, directing, and producing, she brings a bold creative vision to every project. Guiding performances, collaborating seamlessly with crews, and crafting narratives that linger long after the credits roll.
Her work blends grounded storytelling with sharp wit, absurdist observation, and striking visual depth, often exploring themes of identity, belonging, and generational memory. Chinwe has been twice nominated for Best Austin Filmmaker by The Austin Chronicle (2021 and 2025), alongside icons like Richard Linklater and Robert Rodriguez.
Her acclaimed short LOVEBITES was hand-selected by Issa Rae for distribution through Hoorae Media. Her follow-up, ELEPHANT!, a dark comedy exploring teen mental health, premiered at the 2022 Austin Film Festival and earned her recognition as a Top Writer to Watch by MovieMaker Magazine. Most recently, her film CYCLES premiered in competition at the 2025 Florida Film Festival and went on to win two awards, including Best Screenplay at the Black Women Film Network in Atlanta.
Chinwe is currently expanding into the horror genre with her short HELP IS ON THE WAY and a feature-length screenplay titled SWEET MOTHER.
